Ltd, which operates Check Life Diagnostics at its Khilwat and Tolichowki centres in Hyderabad, respects the confidentiality of the people who come to us for testing and treatment. Health information is among the most sensitive information a person has, and we treat it that way.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to this website and to information collected at our centres and over the phone.

We handle personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and applicable medical record and confidentiality requirements.

2. Information we collect

• Identification details, where required to verify identity
• Name of your referring doctor or hospital
• Payment details relating to a transaction with us (we do not store full card details)

Health information

• Your prescription, referral and stated symptoms or reason for the test
• Relevant medical history, current medications and allergies you disclose
• Samples collected from you and the results of laboratory investigations
• Scan images and imaging reports, including ultrasound, X-ray, OPG, ECG and 2D Echo
• Dental examination findings, treatment records and consent forms

Health and medical records are treated as sensitive personal data. We collect them only where they are necessary to provide, interpret or record the service you have asked for.

Website and communication information

• Details you enter into an enquiry form on this website
• The content of messages you send us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone
• Basic technical information generated when you visit the site, such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed and referring page

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — at the reception counter, during sample collection or examination, over the phone, or through an enquiry form or WhatsApp message. We may also receive information about you from your referring doctor or hospital, from a family member accompanying you, or from an employer or insurer where a test has been arranged through them with your knowledge.

Some technical information is collected automatically when you use this website, and some is collected by embedded third-party services such as Google Maps.

4. Why we use your information

We use your information to:

• Register you, verify your identity and perform the tests, scans or treatment you have requested
• Process samples, generate reports and make them available to you or to your treating doctor
• Contact you about your visit, your report, a required repeat sample, or a follow-up
• Respond to enquiries you send us and answer questions about tests, timings and charges
• Raise invoices, process payments and maintain accounts
• Maintain clinical and medical records as required for the standard of care and by law
• Comply with legal, regulatory and statutory obligations, including notifiable disease reporting where applicable

We do not sell your personal or health information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

You may also ask us not to contact you for non-essential communication, such as health check-up reminders, while continuing to receive communication about your reports.

6. Who we share it with

Access to your health information is restricted to people who need it to do their job. We may share it in the following circumstances:

• Your treating or referring doctor — so that your report can be interpreted and acted on.
• Reporting doctors, radiologists, pathologists and consultants engaged by us to read and sign off on your investigation.
• Reference laboratories, where a specialised test is sent out to be processed on our behalf under a confidentiality arrangement.
• A person you authorise to collect your report, or a parent or legal guardian in the case of a minor.
• An employer, insurer or third party that arranged and paid for a test, but only to the extent you have consented to at the time.
• Service providers that support our operations, such as our laboratory information system, IT support or payment processors, bound by confidentiality obligations and permitted to use the data only for that purpose.
• Courts, regulators, police and government authorities, where disclosure is required by law, a court order, or a lawful request, or where reporting is mandated for public health reasons.

7. How long we keep it

Medical and diagnostic records are retained for the period required under applicable medical record-keeping and clinical establishment norms, and for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. Financial and tax records are retained for the period prescribed under applicable law.

Enquiries received through this website or by WhatsApp are retained only for as long as needed to respond to them and to maintain a reasonable record of the interaction. When information is no longer required for any lawful purpose, it is deleted or securely destroyed.

8. How we protect it

We maintain reasonable physical, technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and loss. These include restricted access to records and systems, access controls for staff based on their role, confidentiality obligations on our personnel, and secure handling and disposal of physical records.

No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will act in accordance with applicable law, including notifying the relevant authority and affected individuals where required.

Subject to applicable law and to verification of your identity, you have the right to:

• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
• Raise a grievance about how your information has been handled

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer using the details in section 14. We will respond within the time frame required under applicable law. Clinical findings recorded by a doctor cannot be altered on request, though you may have a factual correction or your own statement recorded alongside them.

10. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses only what is necessary for the pages to load and display correctly. It does not require you to create an account or log in.

Content embedded from third parties — principally Google Maps — may set cookies or collect usage data under the provider’s own policies when those elements load. If we introduce analytics or advertising tools in future, this policy will be updated and consent obtained where the law requires it.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how embedded maps behave.

11. Third-party links and services

This website links to external services including Google Maps, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. When you follow such a link or interact with embedded content, the third party’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how those services handle your data, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Please do not send detailed medical information or scanned reports over social media messages. Use the phone numbers listed on our contact page instead.

12. Children's information

We provide services to children when they are brought in by a parent or legal guardian. Information about a minor is collected and processed with the consent of the parent or guardian, is used only for the child’s care, and reports for a minor are released only to the parent or guardian, or to a person they authorise.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information online from a child without parental consent.
